“The Freedom Fund” is proud to announce the Albemarle County Police Department Foundation as the May 2019, “Friend of Freedom” award winner.
The Albemarle County Police Department Foundation is an independent non-profit organization governed by a Board of local citizens and business owners. The Foundation promotes public safety by supporting our Police Department in its efforts to be a professional, highly educated and trained organization, equipped to prevent crime and enhance the overall safety of our community. In a nutshell, the Foundation supports those who protect us. The Foundation offers several programs to meet its mission including: Housing Assistance to help officers live in the community they serve; Scholarship Grants to assist the Albemarle County Police Department in building a professional, educated force and to aid in recruiting and retaining a corps of highly sought after officers, while providing financial support to our officers and staff pursing their advanced degrees; Community Outreach to help build relationships between the police and the community, particularly children; and Morale Boosts for our officers and civilian personnel throughout the year.
ACPDF is grateful for the support of Gratitude Charlottesville in helping our officers feel appreciated for what they do. For more information about the Foundation, please see http://acpd.foundation/ or contact Kate Kaminski, Executive Director, 434-962-3001, kate@acpd.foundation.
