“I like that Gratitude not only supports local businesses that offer discounts or special offers to our local Military and Police, but also helps to promote “gratitude” to our local deserving service members and veterans,” explains local realtor David Alley. David is the Gratitude Charlottesville “Friend of Freedom” award winner for Q4, 2023. “The Pet Project, Flag Placement events, and Veterans Birthdays are all just wonderful things to be involved with.”
Dave is a Military Relocation Professional with Howard Hanna Roy Wheeler. “The MRP certification program educates agents about working with U.S. service members and their families & veterans to find the housing solutions that best suit their needs and to take full advantage of available benefits and support.” Aside from his own 11 years of service in the Army, members of David’s family have served in the Army, Navy, Marines, “and even an Air Force guy!”
He and wife Simone have lived in the Charlottesville area for over 25 years, where they have raised twins Madison and Bryson, in school at JMU and Hampden Sydney. “I have always had a love of Country and feel that military service is a good way to obtain skills, learn discipline, and gain a sense of accomplishing goals as a team.”
David is the embodiment of service and support—he’s personally served, he serves those that serve as a realtor now, and he supports organizations like Gratitude that do the same. “Any group that organizes its resources to assist current or past service member is worthy of our support.” He is clearly someone that doesn’t just talk about it, but he “be about it”.
