“The Freedom Fund” is proud to announce ParadeRest Virginia as the April 2019, “Friend of Freedom” award winner.
ParadeRest Virginia’s mission is to give the Central Virginia community a special way to show its appreciation and thankfulness for the commitment and sacrifice of local military personnel and their families. Composed of veterans, non-veterans, and representatives of the University of Virginia and Charlottesville area community, the ParadeRest Board has donated its time since 2009 towards providing ways to engage military personnel and their families with the local community. Expressions of gratefulness for our veterans have taken the form of donated tickets to entertainment and sporting events, an oral history project to remember local veterans who served in past wars, an annual 5K race to raise money for local organizations who provide critical services to our military and families, and an annual ceremony (Our Community Salutes) to recognize local High School seniors who are enlisting in our armed services upon graduation.

Each month, “The Freedom Fund” Board of Directors will chose a FOF award winner to be featured on Gratitudecville.com. Winners will get a trophy and sometimes a monetary award.
